Wondering what we've got going on here.. Mechanical Failure, terrorist action..

This could be a very bad day. Hopefully there is nothing major going on..

UPDATE 18:35 (been busy :))

All is well on the Senatorial front. Carry on, Kossacks.

Bad Teaching? Or thinly veiled homophobia?

Fri Jun 16, 2006 at 08:07:00 PM PDT

A teacher from Austin Texas has been dismissed after her topless photos were found on flickr. She defends her photos as art, and after seeing her gallery, I have to say she's not lying. As usual, in the lovely state of Texas, we have a question of broken professionalism, versus homophobia, because, yep, you guessed it, she's a lesbian.

How does it help?

Tue Jun 06, 2006 at 03:17:09 PM PDT

How does banning gay marriage help America?

How does it bring home our 135,000+ soldiers from a war they have no business fighting?
How does it improve the economy, which is falling faster than George W Bush's approval rating?
How does it help the hundreds of thousands still displaced by Hurricane Katrina?
How does it help 'secure our borders'?
How does it improve education, which has been Left Behind?
How does it lower gas prices, or serve justice against oil companies?
How does it stop warrantless spying on American citizens?
How does it lower my taxes so that someone who makes 28x more than me doesn't get a tax cut that's 2470 times mine?

Can anyone tell me?

Rise Above

Fri Jun 02, 2006 at 05:32:47 PM PDT

 I am angry.

I am angry at the terrible shape our country is in. I am angry that the elected leaders of this country were elected under shady circumstances at best. I am angry that this country has gone to war for false reasons and not completed any of the original goals, save one. I am angry that my phone calls, emails, which are my daily life, are monitored by my government. I am angry that the current administration has seen fit to declare itself above the law and beyond reproach. I am angry that the federal response to Hurricane Katrina was pathetic, unplanned, and is still being botched to this day, nine months later.

I am sad.

I am sad that so many of our young men and women have been killed in Iraq for no good reason. I am sad that many Americans died in Lousiana during/after Hurricane Katrina. I am sad, very sad, that so many good people do not realize that they have been lied to, cheated, and stolen from.
